In these classes, Margot Fenley and Chris Nolan will share the unique acting through song process they have developed in their work together over the past four years at the Victorian College of the Arts. Their working methodology ranges across the use of movement, imagery, sensation and improvisation to analysis and brain-based athletic training principles. They aim to equip the actor with accessible tools to build their unique, autonomous, self-reflective process that can be applied mindfully across a range of musical theatre styles and contexts. These classes are an ideal preparation for those who would like to attend song workshop classes that will run regularly after this block is completed.

(Please note: these classes will teach the methodology we developed at the VCA, University of Melbourne between 2015 and 2018, so students from that time, although welcome to join if they’d like a refresher, will be likely to know much of this work already). Auditing is not available for this series. You will need to sign up for all four classes, as they are taught in a progressive block.
